Esh's was founded by John Esh in 1986 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. John moved to the Dutch Corner area of Bedford County to fullfil his life's ambition: manufacture top quality storage barns.

John developed his work ethic as a child. He was born on a farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. By age sixteen, he was building barns with an uncle, where he quickly learned the importance of quality work and customer satisfaction.

Demand for Esh's barns has steadily increased since John built his first shed over twenty years ago. It only took a few years for Esh's sheds to become the standard by which all Central Pennsylvanian storage sheds were judged. John always refused to sacrifice quality and build cheap, flimsy sheds just to meet a competitor's low price. Rather, he created competitive prices with efficient manufacturing practices and volume purchasing.
